Have you ever wondering how to make sure stall stand out at markets and events?
Here are 5 ways you can make your stall stand out to your customers.
- Signage- which can be a range of different things depending on budget and stall.
- Here are some ideas
- Custom Gazabos, Table Cloths
- Gazebo Leg Signs
- Tear Drop Flags and or A Frame Signs as long as weighted down and not in a high traffic area that it becomes a trip hazard.
- Gazebo back-wall signage or banners, even corflute signs zip-tied to the back of the stall.
- Here are some ideas
- Branding
- Uniforms – have a QR Code on the back so people can scan and find out more. Your staff is also a part of your branding while they are walking around or serving.
- Aprons
- Caps
- Uniform Shirts
- Packaging – You can purchase a custom-made stamp and stamp brown bags to begin with.
- Printed Bags
- Boxes
- Have a tag on your products that is bright and has all your info.
- Add a QR Code for your Google review so people can give you a review easily.
- Information – are they found easy, in a central location?
- Payment Terminal or Payment scanning option, Google Pay, etc
- Business cards
- QR Codes
- Social media Follower Scans
- Google Review Codes – Food Trucks have it where your customers are waiting for their food, not where they are ordering. While they wait, you can get them to fill it out, maybe go into the draw to win a free …….. or get a free Lollypop, when you show us the review that night.
- Uniforms – have a QR Code on the back so people can scan and find out more. Your staff is also a part of your branding while they are walking around or serving.
- Location / Set Up
- If you can try to have the same location at your regular markets/events. Makes it easier for customers to find you. Example – We are under the big fig tree near the jumping castle. A great location for a Face painter near where kids will be at the jumping castle.
- Having the same location all the time can not happen, but knowing the location before the event can help in advertising of where you are going to be. Don’t be afraid to ask your stallholder neighbour if you can tag them in a location post for the morning of, so they can also show who is next to them and to come down and check you both out.
- Your Display/ Set Up
- Gone are the times of having things just laying on a plastic table. You need get people attention.
- Here are some ideas
- Your layout of the stall, table, L Shape, or U shape
- Tarp on the ground, with display options.
- Hanging clothing etc off racks on the gazebo
- Hanging curtains from the side of the gazebo to give a shop kind of feel, or privacy if your service or stall requires it, for example, massage or card readings.
- On your tables, tablecloths are a MUST.
- Have height on your displays
- Boxes under the tablecloths to have different things to be on display.
- Old suitcases, open with things inside, and the price on the inside of the lid, also make it easy to unpack and pack up as, its all in the suitcase.
- Old wooden Boxes
- Wire Baskets

- If you are Dog Related, try a water bowl. We had a custom made bowl done for the markets so we also knew if anyone walked off with it. Extra brand awareness because every dog own will look at the bowl their dog drink out off. Be aware some dogs wont drink out of metal bowls.
- Is there are a theme? For Christmas, add decorations, bunting, lights, and tinsel. Teddy Bears Picnic, a nice picnic blanket on the table. Fall or Halloween, add pumpkins. You don’t need to be scared of Halloween. Our Family has been what I call “Disney Halloween” not blood and gore, but think if a 3-year-old would be scared it’s too much. The Olympics, add Circle placemats in the olympic rings and show your displays that way.
- Act Like your Customer. I know it sounds strange but go for a walk and look at what you see of your stall as you are walking up to it. From all directions.
- Does it catch your eye?
- Can you see a gap that can be filled with something?
- Can you move something around?
- Is your sign covered?
- Can you see your ugly camping chair? Can you cover it with a nice cover to make it look more like it belongs at the stall?
I hope that this has given you some ideas on how to help your stall at your next event or market.
